As seen on blog.objet.com, this is the updated model of the one shown in video. Now you can open the doors! This is the mid size model -- 2cm long. NO ASSEMBLY REQUIRED! You are getting one model per print/order. Let me know if anyone needs special text version. (thank you, happy birthday, etc) ** The older model, shown in video, is also available in my shop. **

@DavidSun right that's cool jst wondering. @bakablah yeah i was told that the polished type of materials are put in tumblers for the polishing process which do smooth the result but sanding will be needed for standard types of materials here.

got this printed in Frosted ultra detail, result is pretty smooth! no need to perform any sanding!

@shariff I think if you want a smooth surface, you need to do a lot of sanding... Stat with 900, 1200, 1500, 2000, then 2500 grid sand paper. I got the paper from McMaster Carr. Printed surface will not be as smooth as injection molded parts. Sometimes secondary machining is needed to better control a surface flatness or roundness. The sanded particals are very fine and dirty... You might want to wear a protective mask. Happy sanding.

@DavidSun when this product is finally made is it smooth or are the geometry faces apparent just want to know cos it's my first time and i think i'll be making a lot of cars here too. nice job btw

I've received one in Frosted Ultra Detail & it's perfect. Now recommended as a great example of 3d printing at small scale.

@ChristianA @michaelharries Apparently, this model does not print well in Shapeways fabrication facility using "White/Black/Transparent detail". To avoid future problem, I am changing the material to "Frosted Ultra Detail" and "Frosted Detail".

@ChristianA I have, and will see what they say. To be fair to the designer, and the model, my post was sent in frustration, and it may be more of a manufacturing issue. I will update my comment accordingly.

Very disappointed. Doors don't open, wheels don't turn - rather they fall off. Will be returning for a refund.
