The model is a combination of the 2nd and 3rd type triplanes that appeared inlate 1916 and early 1917. To make a correct 2nd type a modeler will need fill in the half round notch in the trailing edge of the top wing. To make a correct 3rd type a modeler will need to convert or replace the Lewis MG with a Vickers MG and make a smaller half round notch in the front of the topwing over the pilots head.
