received what i assume was the gold "enrobed" stainless steel version as a gift. the rough surface can be difficult to bear at times, but the ring sure is an eyecatcher, i got many comments on it (good and bad --- not everyone can appreciate nerd culture!). however i feel that the gold/paint/whatever was covering the steel, wore off way too quickly. regardless, the polished bronze version was not available at the time, and it has a MUCH more appealing aesthetic as a video game piece and as jewelry, i definitely plan on purchasing it.

Originally purchased the plastic version of this ring. It was so cheaply made! I was honestly surprised when I got it in the mail. It was extremely rough, and it ended up breaking the first time I wore it out. I got the metal version as a birthday present. I ended up painting mine. The way it is made causes it to have lots of odd little lines that look pretty unattractive until you put a thin layer of paint over it. I painted and then wiped it off before it had a chance to dry. In the end it turned out nicely, and I haven't had any problems with it. I would recommend staying as far away from the plastic version as possible. You would just be throwing your money away

I recommend the metal materials as the perceived quality and longevity of plastic jewelery is not what most would consider adequate. The low cost plastic options are there for those who want to save a bit of money at the expense of having to be more carefull and diligent with their pieces. Again, I recommended the metal options because in the end, you get what you pay for.

Avoid Transparent Detail: COMPLETE WASTE OF MONEY! I bought one of these for my girlfriends birthday and being a student I could only afford the Transparent Detail one. I thought it would be fine because I thought it would actually look even more like an actual omni tool. However as soon as my girlfriend put it on her finger it broke. It was an extremely flimsy ring and no where near as durable as something like a ring would need to be. I would not suggest anyone buy this product as it will not stand up to expectations and will very likely break. I tried to contact the seller to resolve this issue but they never got back to me.
