This ring is for making impressions on sealing wax in the form of a skull. I have had quite a few people ask me for this one. It would go great with a pirate cosplay, for Halloween party invitations, or other macabre themes.

Caution: remove signet rings from your hand before using to make an impression. The ring will get hot. Please be careful to avoid burns when using fire or hot wax.

Premium sealing wax can be ordered through our main website or Etsy Store. I would expect dark red or black would be most fitting for a skull.

In some rare instances, Shapeways stainless steel rings have caused a reaction called "tea staining." This is a (not permanent) brown mark on the skin caused by a chemical reaction with the bronze binder. So far only one customer has reported this, and research shows that it depends on skin chemistry - some people always get it, most people never do. Some solutions for people concerned with this are coating the skin contact area with clear nail polish, gold plating, or getting the ring made in silver.
