The Chrysanthemum centrepiece is a reversible design that can function as either a bowl or a candle holder, depending on which side of the design faces upwards. The centrepice is lit using a LED tealight, a light source that produces no heat.

The Chrysanthemum is directly manufactured with the EOS P380 using the PA2200 polyamide material.

An new version of this design now part of the .MGX by Materialise Collection.

I fall in love with this kind of design, even though,,,,,
I never use any candle holder....
It's just so brilliant.
It's so cool that I wanna buy this for my friend, so I hope that she will loves me a lot for this.
Wish to have one, hahahahha
Thank you to everyone for your interest in the chrysanthemum design, your comments are very much appreciated :D
According to the shapeways team the WSF build volume is 31 by 23 by 18cm. The Chrysanthemum was originally sintered on an EOS P380. The design is very thin in certain areas to allow the maximum amount of light to pass through. Unfortunately I cannot just scale the design to fit into the smaller build volume, I will have to redesign for the smaller specs. I have been very busy, and haven't had the time to redesign the Chrysanthemum, but it is definitely on the "to do" list.
Love the intricate details. Will make a conversational piece. When is it available?
the max diameter for SW is 50cm if not mistaken.

I love this design....truly an eye catching piece. When will this be available to buy??
Great design! Any news when this piece becomes available?
This is a wonderful design, by far the best I've seen on Shapeways. I like how it combines material and manufacturing savvy with sheer elegance. Congratulations!
Unfortunately the shapeways build volume is smaller than the machine used to print the Chrysanthemum. I will try to alter the design to fit into the required volume.

Hi Peter
Thank you for your comments :) The Chrysanthemum was previously printed in White and Strong and Flexible, but the option is not currently available. I'll ask around why this is the case and hopefully the design will soon be available for purchase. Currently I use a small battery powered yellow LED tea light to light the chrysanthemum. If anyone is interested I could convert it to standard light fitting.

Great piece!

Looks very nice with the light.
When will it be available in you shop?
Will it fit around a standard light bulb?
cheers Peter Paul
