I used a kind of Monte Carlo algorithm in order to find some good initial choices, then a simple local algorithm in order to refine the minima, and at the end I obviously used the best one of them. Please note that in the common 2D representation of a 3D cube, the edges in two direction remain about orthogonal and of the same length, and the edges in the third direction suffer large distortions, in my 3D projection of a 6D hypercube, the edges in three direction suffer large distortions while the others remain about orthogonal and of the same length.

I'm glad to see I'm not alone in thinking that's a good thing to optimize. But how do you do it?
