One of the 'bubbles' from the twisted model, with the initial wireframe tidied up a bit and made solid. I particularly like the twisted grid. This could work nicely as a small lamp shade, with a small cold LED light.

It probably depends on how dense the grid is. I'm not sure about this particular one, but my twist model went from about $700 http://www.shapeways.com/model/5411/bubbles_twist.html
to $425 in a sparser / more random grid http://www.shapeways.com/model/5521/bubbles_twist_frame.html

The grid idea is very interesting. I'm curious to see how much of a volume reduction the switch to a grid gave.
2 star!? hmm.. I actually thought this is nicer than my other models, being a simple form with interesting cuts, and the wireframe honest to its nature. sort of like a distilled key model.
would love to know what others think of it. Please feel free to leave a comment.
maybe this is too much of a reductive token object as a DDW entry...
