This is a big die based on a Truncated Sphere D12 where you can insert a 1 euro coin on each face.
There are 12 faces because this was the number of countries using euro in 2001 (17 now).
The goal is to have one coin from each country and thus to select a country by throwing the die (perhaps to choose a travel destination).
A dodecahedral version for 1 Euro coins but also for US Quarter coins are alos available
