@Darking i dont mind it so theres no problem, i had the same questions at first. well, shapeways have an automatic validator for the model, that was one of the first filters, and then if you want to print on one particular material, you should read the properties, or else when you send it to print it would be rejected. this two filters served me to test the model (mine was rejected 4 times, one at the update, 3 when send to print). the last one is when you finaly print it, you finally see if there were last mistakes (that was the 5 change in the version, i didn't like some parts so i changed them).

@MacBurro how did you know the first attempts were unsuccessful? did shapes ways tell you or were they printed off? sorry about all these question but I'm interested on how people such as yourself make designs like this one. I'm wanting start printing off my own design and i would like to know what to expected when i try this my self.

@Darking i used 3d max to make the model, and the final version i think it was the fifth try i guess... i had to change some parts of the model to let it print correctly, the size of the bars were one of them, but others were that i had to remove some parts of the original model, and in the first two models i tried to make a rotating world but it didn't work too well, and some other stuff like that.

@Darking well... when i made this model i was just investigating about 3d printing and all the rules of that, and at the same time i was looking into the steampunk stuff, so when i found this site, i tried to make a desk decoration of the world, and at the same time, a model who could test the limits of the complexity of 3d printing, and since the steampunk/post-apocalyptic got a lot of cables, pipes, springs, etc. i just mix them a little bit and this was the result... i guess,

@MacBurro OK cool. I got the model and noticed that it had what look like text that was too small to be read. I wasn't sure if they said something and the printer couldn't make it out or if you meant it to be like that. Thanks again for the great model. I love it!.

@Darking thanks !! well, its just a symbol based font i made so its unreadable, writen in spanish and says something like "earth - the blue pearl." "A world in your hand"
