The Spiral Fracture puzzle is based on my Fracture-10 puzzle, but with an additional "twist". With the Spiral Fracture, 45 degree turns can be used, allowing face and edge pieces to exchange places. This is achieved through the use of curved slices. The curved cuts also make the internal parts visible, which is why there is a gap between the stickers on each face of the puzzle. The 45 degree turning ability makes solving the Spiral Fracture very difficult. In fact, it can be very hard just to restore the puzzle to its' original shape, let alone unscramble the colors!
Spiral Fracture comes as a DIY kit of parts, and you will need to supply your own stickers. The templates for the stickers are available in the instructions forum.
I recommend that you purchase the puzzle in "Black Strong & Flexible". It costs a bit more than the white material, but it's worth it since the finished puzzle will look and work better. The puzzle snaps together, so no screws or springs are required.
