The Strike Cruiser project was an attempt to cut corners, producing a ship of the line with combat capability equivalent to a heavy cruiser but using fewer raw materials and needing less crew. In practice the Strike Cruiser had only the firepower, not the versatility of a true cruiser. Often relegated to the flanks, the Strike Cruiser excelled at punching below its weight: destroying the smaller flanking ships of other fleets in order to free up the heavy cruisers it could never replace. 1:3000 scale Choice of two plug-in hull dishes. Detailed materials recommended.
