ATTENTION CUSTOMERS: I HAVE RECENTLY NOTICED THAT SEVERALNOF MY OLDER MODELS NO LONGER MEET SHAPEWAYS' MINIMUMS (WHICH I GET TO FIND OUT ABOUT WHEN SOMEONE ORDERS ONE, AS MINE ALL WERE PRINTED WHEN I ORDERED MY TEST SHOTS). AS A RESULT, I AM DISABLING PURCHASES OF ITEMS THAT NEED EXTENSIVE REVISIONS.
THIS ITEM IS LIKELY NOT GOING TO MAKE A COMEBACK, AS IT IS ALREADY SMALL ENOUGH TO LOOSE OR BREAK. SHAPEWAYS' NEW MINIMUMS ENFORCEMENT POLICY MEANS THAT ODDS ARE YOU'D BREAK THE PIECE TRYING TO FIT IT IN PERCEPTOR'S HEAD. MY APPOLOGIES.
This add-on item for Reveal the Shield Perceptor will give him a monocle just like his IDW Comics incarnation!
!!!WARNING!!! This item is EXTREMELY small! It is sold as a pair because you are likely to either drop one on the floor (good luck finding it), break one during installation (it took me five of them!) and because Shapeways will not produce a part so small anyway.
Only order this if you SERIOUSLY want to do so. It does look great once successfully mounted, but unless you have precision tools, you are likely to just get frustrated.
It is only available in Frosted Ultra Detail because none of the other Shapeways materials can print it reliably.
INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS:
1. With a precision knife gently thin out the entry tab. The side that needs thinning (which cannot be done by Shapeways as it is beyond material minimums) is the right side of the part once installed in Perceptor's right eye.
2. With tweasers, gently grab the part from the sides and insert the tab in the eye.
3. Holding the tweasers in place, use other hand and tip of precision knife to gently push the part in place. If it doesn't want to go in, do NOT force it. The part will otherwise break. Pull it out, thin the enty tab some more, and resume.
