Dual Half 120- and 600-Cells

  • White

White nylon plastic with a matte finish and slight grainy feel.

This model is both the Half of a 120-cell and Half of a 600-cell together in the same space, showing how they are dual to each other.

IN: 4.104 w x 4.104 d x 4.104 h
CM: 10.424 w x 10.5 d x 10.394 h

@Tamfang the surface at, say, 1/4 of the way from one to the other could be a good way to draw one of the edge sets.

@henryseg Not sure what you mean by boundary conditions. The surface was constrained to lie in the unit hypersphere and span the four faces of the symmetry domain (a simplex). I suppose I could forbid it to come within some distance of the edge, but then it would converge to a cylinder. One could instead use the set of points equidistant from the two families of edges; that surface cuts each simplex face in something like a parabola.

@Tamfang really? You can't enforce some boundary conditions to stop that?

I wanted to make the minimal surface (in S3) separating these two skeleta; alas, it converges (degenerates) to an edge.
