I don't think one is "better" than the other, they are basically two different sizes of the same design. The larger hollow pendant is about 1" in diameter, comes in two parts (that you glue together) and is mostly hollow. The Solid Pendant is about 0.8" in diameter and comes in one part and is completely solid.
