@samern You can print either the halved models or the whole at once; the halves allow you to print it larger with less support material. There's also a derived version joec made that has some structural enhancements: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:31385

Excellent. From Thingiverse, do I print the 2 halves (I am guessing so, because it doesn't look like STL for V5 would print properly without losing detail?

@paulelderdesign Yeah, Shapeways runs on fairly regular rejection cycles and it sounds like they've gone back to rejecting everything again lately. This one could never print here, though. I recommend picking up a home printer; it's a lot more economic in the long run and the various made-up issues that Shapeways uses to avoid printing a model simply don't exist when you print for yourself.

Awesome! I will try it on my Solidoodle to see what happens. Now if I can get an STL of an AA-1A Yankee, I will have a nice model of the airplane I used to own....

Has anyone tried to scale this thing up to see what happens when you print it on a Printrbot, Prusa or Solidoodle? I'd like to get it to be big enough to print, clean up, paint and display as a desk model.

Oh and the irony of it is that it printed on my Ultimaker XD

@7777773 I originally thought that we would get a sample of our print as standard as I saw people with photos. I'm not a fan of the shoot first ask questions later thing either, just recieved another email that my T2 arm won't print as it's "multiple shells" I know it is I made it as a one piece pendant with no functional parts. :O

@paulelderdesign Be sure to post your finished print ;-) It's fun to see people printing all the models that Shapeways mistakenly claims are unprintable.

@7777773 Hear hear I bought a 3d printer last week not only does it help me check for "thin walls" I can see the model itself print ;)

Shapeways can't print models with multiple shells any more - I've seen a sharp increase in previously printable models being declined by Shapeways, usually citing multiple shells. The only model that would get by as a single shell is a basic geometric form like a cube or a sphere... It seems that, either for lack of training or laziness, many files are rejected rather than printing now. For this reason I have given up on Shapeways. If you have your own printer, I have the file hosted at Thingiverse here: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:11683 If you lack your own printer, you could just upload it to http://i.materialise.com/ I have the file shared under a pretty liberal license, so go nuts.
