[ Texture ] I just received my hypercube pendant in stainless steel. The texture is smooth but at the same time, it's not shiny, it has a nice distressed texture which (from what I've read) is from the 3d printing process. [ Size ] Its size is a bit larger than I had envisoned in my mind and in stainless steel, it's a bit heavy to wear as a pendant. I'm a bit disappointed since I had ordered it to be a pendant, however, to be fair, I must note that: firstly I did not take out a ruler and try to accurately envision the size before ordering (I should have done this and recommend that others do this), and secondly, I have a very thin physique so something may weigh on my neck more easily than someone else's (buying it in gold or silver likely would've solved this problem as I believe they are lighter). I think the weight of the item -- for each material, respectively -- should be posted for the user to know along with, perhaps, a real world comparison of the weight (i.e. x grams equivalent to x U.S. nickels). I will pass this suggestion along to Shapeways. [ Design ] Regardless of the above, it's important to note that I'm very pleased with the goregous design of this little piece of mathematical art! The size and weight not being what I had expected doesn't take away from the creativity and expertise involved in designing the 3d model used to create this. I'd like to send my sincere compliments to the artist with the humble (and hopeful) suggestion that perhaps they consider making a smaller version of this same design. Though it's importatnt to mention that I don't believe materials like silver or gold would be strong enough to hold up a smaller model, stainless steel would likely hold up -- and it might be a way for us more delicate individuals to also enjoy sporting such a beautiful design around our necks! :) To the artist: Thank you greatly for offering mathematical art for others to enjoy! There's too much of a shortage of math-based art these days so it was a pleasure to find this. :)
