About this Product

The Earth, Moon, and Mars, to scale, with 3D surface terrain and full color from the latest NASA space imaging.

[See also the solar system set (but note that set is a logrithmic scale, not linear like this one)]

Dimensions:
Earth: 50mm (2 inches) diameter
Mars: 27mm (1 inches) diameter
Moon: 13mm (0.54 inches) diameter

Scale: 1 : 251102362

The Earth and Mars globes are hollow, with a 12mm (1/2 inch) hole at the south pole, giving them a flat bottom on which to sit without rolling, but each also comes with a matching cap/plug to seal that hole, to form a full sphere. (The moon is solid)

Special thanks to NASA / JPL-Caltech, for allowing the use of their planet surface terrain and mapping.

@sbp135 Hahahaha... if diameter of the earth was increased to 4 inches the Jupiter model's diameter would be 44.8 inches, or nearly 4 feet across... I hope you're also not asking for a sun?... :)

@mburkey You don't need to seal them, they come sealed (but it could be interesting to selectively paint the oceans with a high gloss finish.) The color penetrates the model somewhat, so you can even polish a surface and not lose the color as long as you don't abrade too deeply. I haven't drilled mine yet, but I plan to. I don't anticipate problems doing that.

Got these this week. A great way to show the main destinations for human exploration. Do I have to seal these so that they don't wear down and lose color with repeated handling? Can I drill a small hole in these for mounting?
