Introducing 14k Gold, read more on the blog.

GoPro Direct Helmet Mount

  • White

White nylon plastic with a matte finish and slight grainy feel.

    $14.82

Make sure to sand the bottom with 200 grit (until it is smooth) then 600 grit (until it is shiny) sandpaper, then use 3M VHB tape to mount it.

To ensure the camera does not ever rotate in the attachment, use 600 grit sandpaper on the mount in places it contacts with your camera's attachment rings. After couple of minutes of sanding (at 600 grit this is really polishing) you will notice the mount starting to look shiny. Attach the camera and notice the improved holding power.

Screws introduce stress points, VHB is super-elastic http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S_fM5cqSODc Used to glue windows in Burj al Arab and anti-chaff panels on airplane flaps I use VHB 4991

I like it. I'm also thinking something that can be bolted on, rather then stuck, like this: http://image.made-in-china.com/2f0j00NjYtUkibgGoc/New-Aluminum-Skydive-Helme-Mount-Adapter-for-Gopro-GM002-.jpg but in plastic. I like the strengthening bars in your second design. I take it you have some kind of CAD package? I've not used anything like that.

How about this?

It is very strong as it is. Since then though I did a bike mount that is totally bulletproof and looks like this mount could be revised. I will upload an updated model in couple of days.

Hi. I'm interested in this item. Can you tell me more about the process to manufacture this? Is it a 3D 'proof of concept' or is that a production item that is strong? Can you able to estimate a breaking strain of the mount? Sorry for all the quesitons, I've not been to a site like this before so I don't know how it works. Rgds Phil
