This steampunk-inspired pendant features three gears that spin round and round the center handle and gear. The gears, front, and clock hand all spin at different rates, producing a fascinating spin that will keep even the most fidgety hands occupied.

I'd like to see this move, but the video is marked "private"

@rsalmang I'm sorry about that. When I ordered it in frosted detail, it only took a little bit of wiggling to get it to move! You might try giving it a wash with some warm water, that should help unstick things. I'll remove frosted detail from the available materials list. I had originally restricted it to the two frosted detail materials because, with the information I had available at the time, those were the only two it would work in. I guess now it's just one. Thank you for the feedback.

I'm afraid to be the first to say I'm disappointed... I ordered "frosted detail" as well and just unpacked it and it's all one piece. The only rotating part is the swivel where the necklace goes through. A few other things (movable) that I ordered already had to sand paper and adjust here and there (which I don't mind, if i'd produced them myself). But hey! The designs are awesome and print quality nice as well. I'll give the benefit of the doubt and say I ordered them in a material that it wasn't designed for. With a bit of tangling here and cutting there... got most most of them (not this one) working. I'd just suggest shapeways to mentioned a preferred printing material... or similar.

purchased two of these in frosted ultra detail and they are amazing... very nice design. impressed with the rotating gears, seems to be no limit to 3d printing.

I wish it could work in metal, too, but due to limitations with both Shapeways' printing process and the design, that's not possible. The clearances between the gears are too tight to work in any material but Frosted Detail/Ultra Detail, and if we expanded them it would make the whole mechanism very loose and clumsy. Also, Shapeways' restrictions concerning Stainless Steel prohibit the design in two ways: one, it will be rejected for being too fragile in some areas such as the gears, and two, they do not allow moving parts in metal. The metal printers' resolutions are too coarse to allow printing of the parts separately and assembly by hand, the teeth just couldn't be guaranteed to mesh. I'm sorry we can't provide it in metal, but there is simply no way to do it currently.

halo there, i m very interesting in this work. however, i wanna ask if it could come with some metal materials, coz i want this for someone's birthday gift. This is a great design, but plastic make it cheap. thx first.
