Product Description
This is based on the actual call boxes that were found all over the British realm. I based this one off the design of one in Glasgow, a MacKenzie Trench box, called a Red Police Box or Help Point. This dates back to atleast 1929, or maybe 1925.. This is NOT the TARDIS. This has the small door that hides a phone for the public to use in an emergency. The inside was for cops only. As it was basically a mini police station inside, the interiors of the boxes normally contained a stool, a table, brushes and dusters, a fire extinguisher, and a small electric heater. The light on top was used to inform nearby cops they needed to contact the station or of other emergencies. These types of call boxes were also known as "Help Points".
I have actually been working on this for a long time.. Mainly due to requests. This type of call box was used up until the 1970s, when they began to phase them due to the invention of hand held police radio's, and with most homes having phones in them. Though many still remain as heritage sites. Very few police boxes remain in Britain today. Some have been converted into High Street coffee bars. Though I don't have any pic's showing what those look like, or the modifications that were made to them.
NO LONGER OFFERED IN COLOR DYE! The cost of doing orange dye is $3.50 over base cost, and adds an additional week of production time. I won't rip people off with those prices or the wait time. Just use your prefered paints to paint and detail.
