On a second though, I am sure this is by design. I've noticed it is easier to take the ring on/off if you turn it by a 90 degrees. That way you sort of lift it on turned 90 degrees, and then rotate to the proper position, thus "locking" it in place. Still, beware that the size you specify will be the biggest diameter of the ring, and get 0.5-1.0 mm bigger size so it will certainly not be too small. (mine almost is (while other circular rings with the same total diameter feel much more right in size))

Do note that the ring is not perfect circle-shaped! It is more like an egg! I just got mine now, and it showed that the size that I have specified became the longest diameter of the ring! (So the smallest diameter of it is smaller than the one I have specified. The big one is 20.6 mm, while the the smallest is ~18.0 mm! Naturally, the ring is almost too small to wear now.) You can even see this in the model if you look closely of course, but who expects the ring to not be circle-shaped? Be careful with the size if you purchase this! The rest is fine, looks like on the pictures. The surfaces are somewhat grainy, but that's how shapeways prints them. You could polish it a little more if you want.
