It was created with a decorative purpose. I printed it in White Strong & Flexible. If you exert force on it, it bends. If you hold the stylus only by the handle & shake it, it doesn't break. It is probably not a good idea to do this constantly, and better yet, to not do it at all.

Is that handle on the end strong? it looks pretty thin and delicate
