Nine-Sided Die (d9)

This is a nine-sided die (d9) that is based on an elongated triangular bipyramid. As far as I've been able to tell this is the first d9 to have this shape. Its number pattern is based on a 3x3 magic square which gives it a fairly even distribution. In most cases, three adjacent edges will sum to 15. Any die with an odd number of faces must show at least one result on an edge. On some such dice (for instance, the GameScience d5 and the fairly common d7s that are floating around) some results are on edges and some are on faces. This die however is nicely symmetrical in that every result shows on an edge. More specifically, there are two numerals for each result, one on either side of the resulting edge. How is this die useful? It comes in handy for identifying a member of the Fellowship of the Ring, choosing a baseball inning, picking one life of a particular cat, selecting one golf hole as the "beer hole" (aren't they all?), choosing a square in tic-tac-toe, deciding which of the justices of the Supreme Court of the United States should make the day's coffee for the others, selecting which baseball player has to mop up the tobacco juice, picking which month of pregnancy to start posting ultrasounds on Facebook, and of course choosing which circle of Hell you'll wind up in.
