Product Description
2 pairs of HO scale wooden bolster equalized passenger trucks of a common design used for short-to medium length cars from the 1850s to 1875 or later. Modeled after those under Virginia & Truckee car No.9 at the Nevada State Railroad Museum, with iron parts locally made, possibly after a Harlan & Hollingsworth pattern. Although the prototype truck dates to 1873, its construction is no different than those built almost 20 years earlier, excepting the coil springs which were rare before the post-Civil War era of cheap steel. Has a 6 foot wheelbase, outside brakes, and stars on the screw-on journal lids like on the prototype.
Requires 33" wheelsets with axles .975 to 1" long. A 36" with RP25 flange will fit, snugly, but not much used with this design.
Mounting hole for screw measures 0.12"/3mm  diameter with a 0.22"/5.5mm diameter recess for screw head.
Wicking in some thin CA glue will strengthen parts.
Because of their fine detail, , Smoothest or Smooth Fine Detail are the preferred materials, others will show varying degrees of surface roughness or indistict, overly smooth detail. Most other materials may not even print because of the thin sections.
Clean with alcohol before painting, a cheap ultrasonic cleaner works great. Use toothbrush soaked in Bestine rubber cement remover if particularly greasy. Wick on thin CA glue to add strength. Enamels or acrylics recommended. Part Number HOT43s
