About this Product

BIG GUN WARSHIP COMBAT PUMP. Hose inside diameter 6mm. 4 Litres per minute using a 6 volts SLA battery. Max motor size to suit pump. Motor shaft 2.3mm diameter x 13mm length max. Motor bearing 10mm diameter x 3mm high max. Mounting hole centres 16mm. Requires 7 - M2.6 x 6 long screws.

@RichardKazmierczak I sadly do not have any shots of it at this time been working so much I haven't touched it this season yet. There was going to be leaks just because of the nature of 3d printing but as I showed in the video just a little bead of RTV and not a drop has spilled (other than from my own stupidity). This little guys has saved me from running through motors. I will do my best to snap a few when I go on vacation but that is a month and a half away. I shall add them on here when I get them!. @93maximaguy Glad all is healed. Have you any snap shots of the pump installed. Is there any leakage at all. Jet propulsion unit, did block version a while ago to get a very rough cost, but got side tracked and can't remember. Will get back to it soon, just modelling some components for my combat warship. @RichardKazmierczak Arm is all healed and so is the bike! The boat is still going strong and the pump has seen about 20 hours of use with no signs of fatigue or failure. The boat and pump are still on the original motors thanks to this little guy. Glad to see you have another sale on it to bad there aren't more for you. Any word on that jet propulsion unit? It has been a while since I have been on shapeways.

@RichardKazmierczak Arm is still beat up but its just bruising so getting better fast. Pickup is to the right of the rudder so the best way to mount it for me is just using a bit of hose to connect it to the pickup. Yes 3.7v does 1 liter, and 7.4v does just over 2 Liters but you need a good pickup point. I have mine on a double motor mount from my 1/10th scale axial truck for easy placement and it has its own battery and ESC to spin up with the drive motor so the pump does not just run dry. The pump does not like to be above the liquid it is attempting to pump but that is to be expected as the 3D printing process makes it difficult to get tight dimensions. I will keep an eye out on your page to see when the propulsion unit comes out as I'm always on the lookout for the next best thing, and I am thinking of making my first boat from scratch and haven't figured out what to use for the drive and motor setup yet. @93maximaguy how is the arm now. Thanks for that info, now to write it up on shapeways. So where is your pickup point on your boat, could have designed a hard pipe that could have bolted to the bottom of the boat. So 3.7v does 1 litre & 7.4v does 2 litres on the safe side. I see the video has about 50 odd hits now. I have to get back to finishing my pump now, but have plans to do a jet propulsion unit. So drop us line when you get it all working in your boat. @RichardKazmierczak Sorry about the extra delay but I have flow number for you. On a one cell LiPo battery I get around 1-1.5 liters a minute and on 2 cell LiPo I have gotten around 2.2 liters per minute. I had to do some testing with different hoses to keep them from collapsing and so fare the best hose is automotive vacuum hose. Also RTV is a must when sealing to keep the pump from cavitating and loosing pressure.

@93maximaguy Sounds like all went well, so don't panic. When you get a chance after the video, any chance of checking the flow rate, gallons per minute is fine, I can convert it into litres per minute, all you need is a one gallon container and a stop watch. @93maximaguy Done now on shapeways. If you are in the USA there are some clubs over there, go back to my clubs webpage, go to links and there are a couple there. Try assembling it with out any silicon sealer and test it. If it needs sealing, just wrap some string around the impeller close to the shaft and pull gently. @RichardKazmierczak That is an awesome hobby. Would be something to see in person if I wasn't half way around the world. Motor dot is to the right so no need to mirror the body. I have 2 1080P cameras so Im sure I could record and edit a quick video showing the assembly and function for you.

@93maximaguy It is a hobby, www.ausbg.org. Motor rotation, your motor should have a red dot near one of the terminals, which would be the positive terminal. When you wire it up can you look down the shaft towards the motor and tell me which way is it rotating. If it is to the left I will need to mirror the body so when you connect to the correct terminals it will rotate in the correct direction. Mirroring is easy. Then just a bit of tweeking I should have it up on the shapeways site by the end of the week. Once you get it, are you able to video assembly and operation and upload it to youtube so I can link to it.

@RichardKazmierczak You amaze me with your hospitality! The model you sent looks amazing! 2 Impellers should be more than fine ( I hope though I have the ability to kill anything fast). The two bladed design with the 2.5L/m flow rate will cool the motor I have very nicely. This setup has my approval and the size is spot on. I can't thank you enough! Also I have to ask what you mean by sinking battleships? full scale or small hobby?

@93maximaguy Depending on how many spare impellers, 2 would give a rough total of 6 or 7 cubic centimeters. Anyway I think this will cost about $12 US plus what Shapeways charge for postage. If you decide this is OK I will make the kit model which would be the main body, outlet plate and the number of impellers you want, joined by small sprues that make only one handle fee. Cheers for now, have been motivated to design my gen y pump for my hobby.

@93maximaguy Finished today. With my hobby of sinking battleships the split body of the gen x pump leaks so that doesn't worry us, but for hobby I guess you would rather no leaks at all, so I had to change it into a single body which created other changes especially as you require an inlet nipple. Went to a 2 bladed impeller, so this should give you about 2.5 litres per minute, probably now after doing this I could do a 3 bladed impeller, but it would require 6 screws to seal the plate to the body without flexing, then it might still need so silicon sealer that will not glue them together, only require a very thin bit. Exploded view added, will also send a detailed drawing.

@RichardKazmierczak the shaft is a d style shaft. the motor is http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXMMZ5&P=7 Sadly this is the only place I can find any information about the motor. Also I was wrong about the shaft diameter it is 2mm. I will be clamping the motor to the frame so no mounting points will be needed. I don't have anything to accurately measure the shaft length but from the specs it seams like a 13mm shaft length Thank you again for the help. It is greatly appreciated.

@93maximaguy What is the length of the shaft (End of shaft to bearing face of motor) and is it a smooth shaft, or D profile or does it have 2 small splines on the shaft. If you have a model number I can see if I can find the specs on it. Also do you want mounting points on the body of the pump or you clamping the motor. Cheers

@RichardKazmierczak Sorry, No it is not. I was using the dimensions off the specs from the model on this page for reference. Just for the pump itself. I guess you could put it as 1.9mm shaft 1.5 inches wide in the X direction, 2 inches deep in the Y directon and .524 inches thick in the Z direction. Hard for me to write out for some reason. With these listed specs I will have more than enough room for a motor so no worrys there. No need to go to detailed if you don't have to. Thanks

@93maximaguy I will try to do this by the end of next week. Just checking the shaft is 1.9mm diameter. Is the 2" depth including the motor for overall height. For now when I have done this is I will send a detailed drawing for you to check. Cheers

@RichardKazmierczak The only dimensions that need to change are the width down to around 1.5” wide by around 2” deep, and the same .524” height. I will be using a 380 size motor with a shaft diameter of 1.9 mm and use 16mm mounting hole spacing. The inlet needs to be 4mm as well as the outlet and they can be fixed to the pump if possible and I do not need to have any 90 degree fittings.The same bearing size for the end of the motor is fine. I know that is not a lot smaller but I will be using it in an RC Boat for cooling. Don’t need pressure just flow. If you are unable to model this for me it is ok. Thank you again!
