A piece in my desk lamp broke.   I dislike tossing things in the garbage when they could otherwise be fixed.   Nobody sells replacement parts for such inexpensive things as a desk lamp, so I had to make my own.   It turns out that having the replacement part made was cheaper than buying a new lamp.   (yay!)
