This was made as a birthday gift for my wife. I had it investment casted out of sterling silver with a glossy finish. It is a very petite piece of jewelry and I can't wait to see how it turns out. The narrow areas are less than 1/16" thick and just barely meet the minimum design requirements. I will post more pictures once it is received so everyone can see how well it turned out.

6/7/11 - So the gift turned out great, I was able to purchase a silver necklace from a local jewelry store that fit and my wife loves it. There are a few minor imperfections associated with the lost wax casting process. These include slight porosity and a few layer lines from the wax pattern that weren't completely buffed out. It ended up much more robust than I expected for the narrow cross sections.

I didn't create an initial model because I was in a rush to get this gift to my wife. If I recall right it took a little more than a month to finish, but this may have been due to the initial high demand of their lost wax casting process as they had just come out with it at the time. It was fun to make and a unique gift so I felt it was worth the wait.
