Description My Significant Sweetie has a large collection of semi-precious gem and mineral spheres, I thought I would use my abilities to create a unique sphere holder for her. The previous version was double the size I wanted because I measured wrong. This is being scaled to fit a sphere of a specific size, when I created the sphere by which I measured it, I made the mistake of thinking radius was diameter. As a result the object was twice as large as intended. Though it might still have been usable at that size, for a different sphere.

Nice design.
But how would you fit the sphere inside ? By removing an arm ?

I am betting that when printed with the flexible material it could bend enough to let the sphere inside. Otherwise I would design the model with 2 interlocking parts. Since the little character is meant to just peek over the sphere a seam behind it should not be noticeable.

I had a small sample printed in "white strong flexible", and I did not find it flexible at all.
It has mainly sections of 1cm*2cm, and a part is about 4mm*2mm.

Thanks for the info. I think I'll have to try this design for myself though. On the whole I am glad to hear that that material is more strong than flexible. I wouldn't want my designs coming out too limp.
