the r27/r30 were 2 similar classes of subway car on the new york city subway system built by the st. louis car company from 1960-1961, numbered 8020-8249, 8250-8351, 8412-8569, and 8352-8411 in the fleet, then retired and scrapped in 1990-1993 with just 2 r30 preserved, the r27/r30 cars were "married pairs" so they cannot run single and must be run in even numbers, one end of each car does not have lights or signs and cannot be facing outward, but cars are for sale both single and as a pair
there is no chassis that this is designed for, but you can create your own by cutting styrene sheet plastic, and then drilling holes to mount the trucks, pantograph end gates are not included because theyre too thin to print properly, , clear styrene sheets can be cut for the windows, styrene sheets are sold at hobby shops and some craft shops
