N gauge (1:148 scale) body shell for an early Thompson L1 2-6-4 tank engine. This model is not designed to fit a commercially available chassis but I am sure that an enterprising modeller would be able to adapt a suitable donor chassis. Needs, chassis, handrails, vacuum pipes, paint and transfers to complete.

@Johnnyf Hi and thanks for your inquiry. This is a body shell for the later 1940's Thompson locomotive which took the L1 classification from the earlier GCR machines. I believe that Dean Sidings are looking to/have produced a GCR L1 kit - adverts may be found in the UK model railway press. Hope this helps.

Is this L 1 an ex GCR model to which it is very similar the GCR model was redesignated L 3 if this the GCR model will you be doing transfers with Metropolitan Railways.
