Product Description
This is a detailed 1:400 scale model of the Canadair CP-107 Argus anti-submarine aircraft. This unique aircraft served the RCAF from 1962-1983 when it was replaced with the CP-140 Aurora (based off the Lockheed P-3 Orion and L-188 Electra airframe). This aircraft was based off the airframe of the British-built Bristol Britannia commercial airliner and the interesting part was that the engines were converted back from the original Bristol Proteus turboprops, to Wright Duplex-Cyclone R-3350 Turbo-Compound 18-cylinder radial piston engines. This aircraft was eventually developed into the Canadair CL-44 airliner which featured a stretched fuselage and Rolls-Royce Tyne turboprops.
