The 5 Platonic Solids fit together inside each other. This arrangement has the Icosahedron on the outside, then a stellation of the Dodecahedron, the Cube, a Star Tetrahedron, and at the center an Octahedron. These 5 forms are the only 'perfect' or Platonic solids that each have all their edges, vertexes, angles, and faces identical.
They symbolize the traditional 5 Elements from which the Universe is made: Earth Cube, Icosa Water, Tetra Fire, Octa Air, and Dodeca Spirit. I have a poster artwork about the 5 Elements called the Universal Yoga Mandala that is available from www.Yogaverse.com
Theosophy calls a model like this the 'Greater Maze', and understanding the way the 5 shapes fit together teaches you a lot about the symmetries of 3 dimensional space itself.
