An actual photo of a printed example. The detail is a little fuzzy, but this model is one third the size of the original design. The full design is a bit too expensive to print.

A render. I might add an actual photo when I get one.

Model versus hand. This model is one third scale of the original design, but still quite big.

A year has 12 months and a dodecahedron has 12 faces...

Each month spans five weeks and each face of a dodecahedron has five sides...

The Gregorian calendar repeats every 146,097 days and there are exactly 146,097* triangles in this model...

Spooky. Personally I blame Ugo Boncompagni.

This model is one third of the original design and hence the detail has become a little fuzzy. One day I hope to have enough money to print at the intended size. But the calendar will probably be out of date by then. :-(

[ * This is a complete fabrication. There are in fact 113,802 triangles in the model, but who's counting? ]
cm: 8.9 w x 8.9 d x 8.9 h
in: 3.5 w x 3.5 d x 3.5 h
