Screwless bracket for the Gopro Zenmuse H3 2D. For H3 3D there will be a separate version soon! Sick of this tiny screws? This redesign of the bracket is for easy clip on and remove. The gimbals movement is not limited in any way and still balanced. The original Gopro lens protection is usable, too.

@Boarz Oh, I see. Ok then I'll be waiting for the update then! Haha, it's my first purchase from Shapeways so I thought all sellers ships themselves, but now I know. :) Thanks!

@joshobra Hi, joshobra. 1:The version is already finished. I increased the pressure on the camera slightly. But i sent it to another customer to check it, because i have only the 2D version. When it's checked and good i will upload it for orders. 2: I do not ship, shapeways does. I have no influence to the production or the shipment, i'm only the designer, sorry ;-)

@Boarz I have two questions: 1. How soon can you get the H3-3D version of the clip to work? 2. Where do you ship from? Thanks! :)

@8dcphoto thanks for your investigation. In this video is a fix of this problem described in german: Maybe it helps you. I will definitely make a redesign for the H3 3D soon.

I've had the same issue that it appears has affected @nsm4, @Rustman, and @kriegner. It threw me at first until I came here and saw these posts. Once I replaced this bracket with the factory bracket the problem disappears. I'll definitely hold onto it and hope for some sort of fix because the whole installing and removing screws cycle gets old quick. Maybe I just need a second GoPro...LOL

@Rustman I have the same issue. I have the bracket mounted properly, with the little pips in the screw holes and the front bar neat the GoPro lens. When I power on the gimbal, I get loud grinding and twitching. Problem disappears when I use the factory bracket. Feel like I just flushed $12 down the toilet...

@nsm4 I just received mine and it does exactly what yours does. The camera twitches and something is making a grinding sound. Did anyone come up with a way to fix this problem? I really like the bracket and wish I could use it. As it is now, it's worthless to me.

@Boarz not sure if anybody has categorically answered whether this fit the H3-3D or not. For info it could well be that the placement of the bracket s slightly different on the H3-3D due to the position where the third axis sits. Not having bought the bracket but being very interested I can see that as the GoPro swings down there is very little clearance with the stock bracket used. The min gap is just 1mm from the brushless motor at about 15% of the cam facing full down. So if your bracket projects any more than the original it is very likely that your design will jam the gimbals when the zenmuse is power cycled, this will explain the twitching mentioned as the motor will pull back if it is stopped. Hopefully the attached photo gives you a better idea as I would be keen on purchasing if you can confirm this will work with the H3-3D.

I purchased a Zenmuse bracket from Shapeways. I installed it on a Phantom 2 with Zenmuse H3-3D and GoPro Hero 3+ Black. Upon powering up, the gimbal kept twitching and making grinding noises. I had never had any issues with this gimbal. I removed the Shapeways bracket and installed the original Zenmuse bracket and it behaved fine with the factory bracket. Your experience may vary but be forewarned that you could have these issues with the Shapeways bracket. **Note: the lens cover is on in the video below so that the lens didn't get scratched while changing the brackets several times but the performance is EXACTLY the same with or without the lens cover; you can see the gimbal has no issues with the lens cover and the original bracket**

@dcooper2025 When the bracket is pushed too far, a collision is possible. I'll think of an update soon, maybe i can design some kind of stop pins, so that the bracket cannot be pushed too far when clipping it to the gimbal. @Peter_Evans: Many thanks for your checks.

I just double checked the installation this morning and I can state categorically that when the nubs on the extreme ends of the Shapeways bracket are clipped into the screw holes on the Zenmuse's GoPro backplate it is impossible for the bracket to make contact with the gimbal.

Sorry for "dimples" read "pimples" (i.e. raised bits)!
June 21, 2014, 10:45 am
@dcooper You were pushing it on too far, Damon!! There are dimples on the end of the upper and lower clips that slip into the screw holes on the gimbal. When it's fitted correctly like that, the front piece of the bracket sits very close to the lens. Pushing the clips past that point takes the bracket over to cover the GoPro LEDs and then you'll get the issue you're complaining of.

@Boarz sorry I threw it out actually. It collided on the bottom when the camera was tilted forward, causing the gimbal to reset. I think I recall it may have hit the top as well but I don't recall fully. Hope that helps. Would have been a great piece of gear otherwise!
June 19, 2014, 12:56 pm
@dcooper2025 Could you send me some pictures where it collides? Maybe i can correct it. Thanks.
June 19, 2014, 6:19 am
@Tikigod19 no, it collides with the gimbal on the H3-3D. I had to ditch it.

I've reviewed this before, but feel I should again, now that I have quite a bit of time using it. It's everything I expected and more. What a wonderful little tool. This really should be standard equipment if you're using a GoPro on a ZenMuse.
June 9, 2014, 10:54 pm
I just received the two I ordered. I put one on my Zenmuse. It holds very securely, and it will make things much easier when I need to change cameras or batteries. Well designed, and a bit underpriced if you ask me. You should charge more.

@Boarz I've purchased so I'll let you know but I've been told it will work fine with the H3-3D
April 28, 2014, 8:47 am
@Tikigod19 i don't think so. It's the same camera, so why should dji construct another holder for it?
April 25, 2014, 6:17 am
@Boarz more than happy to test it but what if it doesn't fit.. Will I be able to get a refund?
April 24, 2014, 11:59 am
@Tikigod19 Hi, sorry, but i have no idea. I have only tested the H3-2D gimbal. The pictures seem that they both have the same dimensions, but i can not guarantee this. You have to test it! If it works, pls comment this again. Thx Boarz
April 22, 2014, 7:47 pm
will this work with the H3-3D? I did email the designer but got no reply
April 22, 2014, 12:26 pm
Works as described - so much easier than fiddling with screws!
