This frame is a result of the cooperation between Eyewear Kit and designer Michiel Cornelissen. Customize your eyewear by ordering the frame in your favorite color here, and complete with one of Eyewear Kit's many high quality lens options: from readers to sunglasses, fun colours to prescription.

This design revives the 'Pince Nez' style glasses that were popular in the beginning of the 20th century. Somewhat forgotten, these types of glasses have a lot going for them: they're super small and portable (great to have around as an extra pair of sunglasses or reading glasses) and it's hard to describe the sensation of wearing glasses without the need to fix them on your ears. You can do your hair with your glasses on! And I probably don't have to mention that you'll be the hippest boy or girl on the block. 'Pince Nez' features a flexible bridge, holding on to many sizes and shapes of nose with only a minimal amount of pressure.

The polyamide used to manufacture these glasses is strong yet flexible, and can be washed (even dishwashed!) after removing the lenses. This material tends to smoothen and fade slightly with wear, not unlike, for instance, jeans textile. 'Pince Nez' is designed to adapt to many different nose sizes and shapes, though there are exceptions. If you know you have almost no bridge on your nose, you might have difficulty fixing them on your nose; if you have a very wide nose, they will probably fit but might flare out too much. For most men, this model is intended to appear as slightly undersized glasses; with most women, or men with smaller heads, the size will be closer to regular sized glasses.

To complete the 'Pince Nez' frame, order Eyewear Kit's glasses, available in a range of colors and specifications, here.

Dear Michiel, I have just received from my local optical store my glasses! It was quite the talk of the week... I am very happy with the result. The frame is light with the lenses and seats comfortably in my nose (even more than my vintage pince nez glasses). I am very pleased! Thank you very much!

@MichielCornelissen Thank you very much for the Information. I am a shortsighted (I have c. 2,5-3 degrees of Myopia) so I must make a special order for the sunglasses lenses to my optician. Hopefully I wont have any problem...

@KefalasAlex Thanks! It should be perfectly durable; but it may be tricky to order the lenses from another outlet, as the frame is a bit flexible; and therefore might not be so easy trace. But I'm not sure, it could work too. If you want to be on the safe side, order from Eyewear Kit.

@MichielCornelissen I have just put my order and I am quite thrilled! I am a vintage pince nez fan (I wear from time to time an old pair from my collection). This model is just perfect for sunglasses I believe. I would like to ask you if it is durable enough and if I can easily order lenses in any local optic store in my area or it must be also a special order from eyewearkit ?

Great to hear @deeeep!

Just got my glasses in and they sit very comfortably. I also ordered the prescription lenses from eyewearkit.com and they snap in easily and are the right strength. The glasses do move when your face expands/contracts vehemently (normal people call this laughing, yawning etc.)... But a great piece to wear!
