Motrr Galileo - iPhone extender

Motrr Galileo - iPhone extender 3d printed Accessories
REVERSE mount adapter for the Motrr Galileo powered motion system for the iPhone

Objective to permit the iPhone lens to be centered over the nodal point of the Galileo device.
This solve part of the stitching problem when using the Motrr Galileo for automated panoramas capture. The bracket ONLY work with the bluetooth Galileo Currently this bracket is not supported by any Panorama software for the Galileo, its a HACK and we can only hope the guys making the Sphere app will support reverse mounting of the iPhone in the next release.. please email them and ask them to support the cause. ;-)

Blog post with and without the reverse mount panoramas

Rev 2, adjusted the lens hole position and removed some material to reduce the cost on shape ways. The fashion holes saved $5.

MOUNTING works, but will require a update of the Sphere program before you can use it with Sphere, sorry no promises, but maybe some of the other Galileo app's ?

Bracket works with iPhone 4, 4s, 5, 5s

@C360 AWESOME, I did the same thing using a iPad to drive the Galileo, but have not tried it with Photosynth yet, probably would not be hard for MS to include motrr support in Photosynth. (I love their scheme for including panoramas in bling) Yeah Im pretty disappointed that sphere have not implemented this very simple option.

Just fooled the galileo using the adapter for my iPhone. I used an iPod to connect via BT and launched Photosynth on the iPhone. I let Photosphere on the iPod move the Galileo with the iPhone. Obviously the angle of shooting will be downward a little too much but the stitch errors are significantly less! Too bad the sphere update today didn't support the adapter. In response to my mail they said they know of the adapter, no promise on actually supporting it someday.

@C360 Good idea, they have all the ingredients already, just have to make a few edits and a check-box. it would make for FAR better automatic panoramas with their tool.

I'll send them a message as well!

@C360 Unfortunately the sphere app don't like the lens closer to center and make a mess of the stitching. The adapter is kinda useless for panoramas until Sphere add a option check box for inverted phone ha ha.

What happens if you run the Sphere app anyway, is the panorama upside down? Isn't it possible to fool the Galileo? Stick an iPhone running PhotoSynth into the adapter and Galileo, 'connect' another iPhone/iPod with bluetooth and start the Sphere app and it's 360 routine! PS great idea to create this adapter!

@nokhok yes I tested it with the 4S and its locked in, but it push (pinch) on the volume a bit, I shot a panorama with the 4s and a comparison of the two on my blog at there is also a photograph of the first prototype, I cut some holes to reduce the material and make it a little cheaper on ShapeWays. http://bophoto.typepad.com/bophoto/2013/12/motrr-galileo-automated-iphone-motion-system.html I will update the file once I have used it a bit to accommodate the volume on the 4 and 4s better, it works fine with the 5.

Great product! I have the Bluetooth Version of Galileo and want to use the power supply with my iphone to use it for longer time-laps videos and surveillance. Did you test your mount with the 4s, is it stable?
