Osdas is a sliding-piece puzzle without a frame. Regular sliding piece puzzle, like the famous
15 puzzle, have pieces sliding in a frame, such that they do not fall out. The
Boomdas puzzle is a 3x3 sliding puzzle from Japan has no frame, while the pieces still hold together. Boomdas has a cubic sibling called Muto Cube. More info
here,
here and
here. However, one can easily cheat with Boomdas (and Moto Cube) by sliding them apart and putting them back together.
Osdas is a frame-less sliding puzzle similar to Boomdas, but with a special "
knucklehead" mechanism with
many layers that prevents the pieces from coming apart. No cheating with this one!
