The Rogue Auroch, an unstoppable Juggernaut of the plains-land that still thrives wild in places that its kin, the domesticated cattle, cannot.
Foul tempered as they are dangerous, the Auroch is often hunted by the tribes of the north when times are scarce, for food and their fine tusks. In times of war however they are used for a different purpose, taken alive they are chained and dragged to the battlefield blindfolded. There the blindfold is taken off as the battle starts and the beast directed towards the enemy lines. Young, mostly drunk, warriors can earn great prestige by leaping onto it at the last moment, riding with weapon in hand as they hang off its horns and hack down the enemy from its back.
Easily converted the Auroch could make a fantastic mount for a warband leader, a golden false idol of a heretic religion or a twisted warbeast wrapped in chains and driven on by its tormentors.
