A carving inspired by the art of the Alhambra in Granada. The Shahada proclaims "there is no God but God" and decorates the walls of the faithful. This embellished tile shows the swirling Islamic text, decorated with frills and arabesques that mimic leaves and sprouts emerging from the letters. The design is inspired by art seen throughout the carved walls of the Alhambra and Generalife, displaying the peak of traditional Islamic art from the 14th century. Variations on this traditional tile are hung as a declaration of faith at home entrances to show faith and ask for God to protect the house.
