I ordered mine in bronze glossy. Yes, when you roll this die, it has a single vertex at it's highest point. So it's not exactly a trivial matter to decide which of the three faces surrounding this vertex is truly pointing up, however, this thing is massive solid and makes one hell of a paperweight or conversation piece. Quite a loud noise when you roll it on a hard surface. Just don't toss it on your coffee table, you know, with the glass top. That would be bad.

Are you sure this will work as a valid die? I know it is a Catalan solid, but at least one of the chiral variants (the one I used here http://www.shapeways.com/model/98517/colorful_pentagonal_hexecontahedron.html ) does not have an up-facing side when rolled on a flat surface. Keep in mind the tetrahedron is also a Catalan solid, and d4 dice need to use the opposing _point_ instead of a flat opposing face... An option that my chiral variant does not have. Deltoidal hexecontahedrons (I think someone here on shapeways made several) and pentakis dodecahedrons (which I use for my dice, although I haven't ordered any myself yet. Justin Michell has, however, http://www.dicecollector.com/JM/D60.HTM , as well as this model and friz and clsn's versions) both work as valid d60s, however. Maybe Justin's blog has a way to contact him about the roll-ability of the die of yours he bought?
