High detail N scale (1/160) EMD FL 9 Locomotive (New Haven Class EDER-5). It was a dual-power electro-diesel locomotive, capable of diesel-electric operation and of operation as an electric locomotive powered from a third rail. Sixty units were built between October 1956 and November 1960 by General Motors Electro-Motive Division for the New York, New Haven and Hartford Railroad (the "New Haven"). The locomotive was lengthened to accommodate additional equipment, including a larger train heating steam boiler. Due to the additional weight of the added equipment, the locomotive was equipped with a three-axle rear truck. The model is made hollow to save material, and only to be mounted on a moving model. The photos are the real design of the miniature, no fotoshoped. Model unpainted. Technical Advisor: dmars67
