@dan_nav the display shield would work better. It doesn't cover the lens. The lens is how it detects light, I believe. You can also set the brightness settings under the Glass options

Great product so far, but I do have a question. I accidentally bought a white one--so I took a black sharpie to the shield. That worked out well...but I notice that when I'm out for a walk in the sun--the screen is always dim as if it were night. How does Glass detect ambient light, and is there anything that I should do? Would purchasing a Lenscover be a solution, if the sensor is integrated with the prism?

What are the tolerances around projection lens? I am interested in this but have a worry that if to close it could damage the lens. An idea I have to solve that is once I receive this I would affix a piece of lens cleaning cloth to the inside of the shield where it could possibly come into contact. If the tolerances are to close however the cloth, albeit thin could disrupt the fitting of the shield. Please let me know and thank you for your interesting designs.
