A tiny scarab beetle, with all the little details. She is exactly 4.9 cm from her front to her back claws, with a body roughly 3.5 cm long.

Please note, her claws are so small that they exceed the nominal resolution of Shapeways' machines, so you may see substantial variation in quality at this scale.
cm: 3.438 w x 4.9 d x 1.94 h
in: 1.354 w x 1.929 d x 0.764 h

Yes, that's right (I can see our comments crossing in cyberspace), the other metals are also not available due to the size. I will keep trying to push the limits, though. Thank you so much for your kind words, and for your patronage!

I have a steel pendant on the way and thought the opened version would make a nice complement. This is my first Shapeways order so I'm not familiar with all the materials in real life but maybe I'll try some metallic paint on the black strong and flexible when I get it.

Steel is sadly beyond the capabilities of Shapeways right now; the legs are simply too small and fragile. The closest you could get is the scarab pendant (http://www.shapeways.com/model/71278/scarab_pendant.html), whose legs are folded up so that they are not so fragile, and who prints beautifully in steel and in silver. I hope the technology improves to where a tiny metal scarab can be produced, as I want one too!

I ordered a black strong and flexible, which should get to me in a couple weeks, but I was hoping for metal to match the pendant I also ordered from your shop. Are the other metal materials not an option because of the size as well? Great design, by the way. I can't wait to get it.

I'm so sorry about that. As the description notes, this model is so small that Shapeways really prints it out of the goodness of their hearts, and Alumide appears to be too fragile. I have removed it from the materials list. She does look good in strong-and-flexible materials!

Any chance of getting a stainless steel option? I was looking to get a metal version of this but apparently when Shapeways tried to make the alumide version for me, it failed. Thanks

My alumide order just got cancelled :(
