About this Product

SMALL METAL TELLURION PENDANT

Here is an attractive and educationally useful pendant for the scholar, astronomer, steampunk enthusiast, or the lover of the unique and celestial.

The tellurion is a model of how the earth and the moon move in space. You will see that the eath rotates freely on its axis, orbited by the moon. Orbit the whole thing around a candle or lightbulb, and you have a full feldged model of the earth, the moon and the sun.

There is some talk that if you spin the little moon on this pendant around the earth with the right conditions, that you can travel forward and back in time! ;)

@andreasmiller Hello Andreas! I'm so sorry that you sent me this comment so long ago and only now I am responding. Thank you for your kind words about the object. I am thrilled that it made you happy, and also hopefully that it will make your father happy. I'm also particularly thrilled that he came out of surgery and that it turned out not to be a last request! Hope you are well and happy.

Hi Whystler, My father was about to undergo heart surgery a few weeks ago. So, he asked me to get him "one of those 3D printed objects," and something he can wear around his neck. Almost like a final request. I perused the shapeways site and found your item fairly quickly. It seemed to be the exact thing my dad would want. It is also made out of stainless steel, which has some symbolic meaning for me. But, in any case, I ordered this item and then wondered is it too big? Is too fragile? etc. I must say, it is way better than I thought it was going to be. The item is so nice I don't want to give it up at all! This is me in the picture wearing it in green, unwashed on a sunday morning walking around U.B.C. with a large coffee and an iPad. The photo does not do it justice. Everything spins on it fluidly, and it is tough! I mean, really strong exactly like stainless steel. Who knew? My dad underwent surgery 5 days ago. He had 6 bypass grafts done. He lives in another city, so I was able to speak to hime over the telephone on day one, after surgery, if you can believe it. I'll have to order another one! Thanks, Andrew Miller
