A jointed model of the mantis shrimp, Odontodactylus scyllarus. The legs, body segments, mouthparts, antennae, eyes, and tail fins of this model are all movable. You may remember the mantis shrimp from The Oatmeal's informative webcomic. This amazing crustacean can create massive forces with its raptorial appendages, see and communicate in multiple wavelenghts of light invisible to humans, and is surprisingly intelligent.
