The War Droids are purely mechanical troops. They originate from the early days when the Undead did not have such a large ground force, but have been continually updated. They are a common sight on the battlefield working as the front line for the more valuable troops, as literally disposable cannon fodder.
War Droids are deployed in groups of four to six (typically six), with two to four units of either War Droids or Hunter Drones (and frequently an Enrager Platoon) under a command element. Each War Droid has two Plasma Pulse Rifles (one carried, on shoulder mounted). They are protected with powerful shields and armour, requiring either heavy weapons or upper-tech infantry small arms to damage.
War Droid have no sense of mortality, and thus are never effected by morale. As such, they are typically used as recon-by-fire. The War Droids are pointed at the enemy and march headlessly forwards, meaning the enemy either has to ignore them and hope the War Droid's sensors do not spot them or open fire and give away their position to watching Aotrs forces. War Droid AI is not too effective and without guideance they are not good at taking their own initiative. Nor are the especially good at taking cover or dodging and their melee capabilities are poor at best, their shields providing the only real problem. Of course, a melee assault on the War Droid typically leaves the enemy disorganised and unprepared for the counter-assault by the Aotes infantry, who are very much better at that task.
