Space plane in 1967! Arguably one of the greatest what ifs in the history of space exploration, the Boeing X-20 Dyna Soar was a reusable space plane designed in the 60's. Configurable for surveillance, crew transportation and potential offensive space missions the Dyna-Soar (Dynamic Soaring) would have been an impressive leap forward in our space capabilities of the day. Due to confusion about its role in the USAF arsenal, it was sadly canceled at the brink of the prototype stage. The research begun during its development eventually made its way to the development of the Space Shuttle. Legions of space fans have dreamed of the possibilities if only a different decision had been made.
Now the magic of 3d printing puts this milestone in space transportation in the palm of your hand!
You get (2) 1/144 scale versions of the X-20 with your purchase: the "on-orbit" version and a re-entry version, both excellent for swooshing around your room or office. The on orbit version is hollowed out in sections to reduce mass. Some gluing will be required for final assembly.
