Patriot Missile BT60 Fin Unit for 24mm motors

A personal favorite, this single piece fin unit has the less often seen smaller fins and subtle tail cone that are exacting and true to scale of the real thing. Often times the fins are enlarged for more stability with the tail cone omitted entirely and then it becomes more of a sport scale model. Not this one. It even has the conduit strakes with the bolt detail that only requires for the body tube to continue those strakes in a simple fashion as there are no more bolt details on the real version beyond the tail unit. The tail unit encompasses all these details for a no hassle scale project. Because of its retained scale appearance, you will require added nose weight to balance the CG/CP but you can still get outstanding high flying performance with this 24mm engine mount version. Great for BP or composite E or F motors! I also offer an 18mm version so you can lighten the rear with a D21 motor with less weight needed to be added in the nose cone. I love BT60 scale version of the Patriot to take advantage in using the Estes NC-60 nose cone which is a good approximation of the real missiles ogive profile for its price. The rear for both have a robust bulkhead to use whatever retaining feature you want to provide, for either BP or Composite. I left out a engine hook notch feature as to retain the scale appearance but even that can be carved out. This rocket with stubby wings makes for a high flying and VERY rugged rocket. It even can be flown on a streamer. You'll never break a fin. REVISION: I deleted the bottom flange to take advantage of the new 24 mm threaded motor retainers made by Estes as well as enlarging the mount to accept ST-9, a thicker walled motor mount tube. These improvements are necessary for such a hardware investment that everyone can appreciate.
