Port of the Black Nightmare Puzzle Box (originally by Bruce Viney, Homemade Puzzles, and thence to thing:21658) to OpenSCAD, and modified for easier assembly. This is a lovely little puzzle. Happy building, and happy solving!
The STL file has a complete set of objects that will print on an approximately 20cm x 15cm build surface. To break this up into smaller sets, use the original OpenSCAD source file. Complete assembly instructions are included in the downloads, including the OpenSCAD source file used to generate all of the documentation drawings.
I have modified the puzzle box by adding alignment pins and holes to all parts, and redesigning the inner box so that it has no suspended areas. The decorative panels have been separated from each side so that the side can be printed together with the next layer in, avoiding the need to align them. This also allows the decorative panels to be printed in a different color, for a two-color box. Some assembly by gluing is needed, and is covered in the instructions.
March 31, 2013: Updated the OpenSCAD and STL files. The original ones posted were correctly fine-tuned for my MakerGear M2, but subsequently I discovered that slic3r was giving me incorrect dimensions, ran a calibration routine, and found that my extruder multiplier needed to be dialed back quite a bit. After the calibration, I fine-tuned the parameters for the puzzle box again. The latest version, printed on my M2, has an excellent fit on all parts. They just snap right together Black Nightmare Puzzle Box
