This is a hollow replica. The hole in the top has a cap (seen to the right in the photo) that you simply put into place with a little glue. Since it is hollow it will print for much lower price now. You can fill up the hollow interior with plaster or and other 2 part mix solidifying material to give it some weight and added strength. Just don't use any material that exotherms too hot.
Paint with Createx Opaque Purple #5202 http://www.tcpglobal.com/itemdetail.aspx?ItemNo=CRE+5202-2Z
This is the same paint used on the show.
Add yellow florescent paint to the engravings to simulate the glowing effect. After painting with purple, clear coat with acrylic clear http://www.tcpglobal.com/spraypaintdepot/crystal-clear-acrylic.aspx
Then you will be able to paint in the engravings and wipe away the excess with a damp rag and not effect the purple base coat.
Before painting, it is important to wash the oil off the surface. There is also going to be a very fine powder in the engravings. Use COLD running water and a small soft brush to pick out the caked in powder in the engravings. It is really fine and tends to get in tight in the inside corners. The oil will come off with dish detergent liquid soap. Remember the 3d print is fragile so handle with care while cleaning or painting.
